Revamping Hospital Workwear Management Dashboard

About
The project involved collaborating with a company operating Workwear Dispensing Units in hospitals. These units facilitate workwear issuance for hospital employees using a card-based system. As a product designer, I was tasked with redesigning the dashboard interface to improve workwear management, inventory control, and operational efficiency.

The problem
The existing dashboard lacked intuitiveness and efficiency, hindering administrators' ability to monitor workwear usage and manage inventory effectively. Administrators faced challenges in gaining visibility and control over workwear distribution across various hospital locations, leading to inefficiencies and increased operational costs.
Understanding the users needs
I conducted knowledge-sharing sessions with the company's founder to understand the needs and pain points of hospital administrators and employees. Insights gained guided the design process, ensuring alignment with user expectations and workflow dynamics.
Design Ideation and Prototyping
Based on gathered insights, I developed wireframes and prototypes of the dashboard interface. Iterative design cycles focused on enhancing usability, accessibility, and functionality. Prototypes were refined based on stakeholder feedback, ensuring a user-centric design approach.

Usability Testing and Feedback
Usability testing sessions were conducted with stakeholders to gather feedback on prototype designs. Observations and user feedback informed iterative refinements, addressing pain points and enhancing user experience.

Development and Implementation
Collaborating with the development team, I translated finalized designs into a fully functional dashboard application. Continuous communication and iteration cycles ensured seamless integration of features and adherence to design principles.
Improved Visibility and Control
The redesigned dashboard provided administrators with enhanced visibility and control over workwear usage and inventory management across multiple hospital locations.

Enhanced User Experience
The redesigned interface contributed to higher user satisfaction and adoption rates among hospital staff and administrators, resulting in improved operational efficiency and streamlined workwear management processes.
Conclusion
The project resulted in a user-centric dashboard interface that streamlined workwear management processes, enhanced operational efficiency, and delivered tangible value to the company and its stakeholders. By leveraging a comprehensive understanding of user needs and iterative design methodologies, the redesigned dashboard interface addressed key challenges and facilitated optimized workwear management in hospital settings.
